Great news to share...

Our dossier was submitted today! I received an email from our coodinator just before lunch. What does this mean? Well, truthfully, it means that everything is out of our hands now. Our life, on paper, travels to New York (the consulate of Kazakhstan). Then, it's on to the country of Kazakhstan, before we receive our letter of invitation.

The clock is officially ticking down to our travels. We are hoping for smooth sailing and take off by the start of summer. It used to be as little as 4 months of waiting from this point. However, several other countries are shutting down programs or seeing major delays in wait times. Therefore, many couples are shifting their focus to Kazakhstan. We received a letter from our agency, a while back, that said it might take a minimum of 5 months to get the call as a result.

Of course, we are praying for a speedy process, but try to be prepared for the longer. We're using this time to become informed travelers, by reading as much as possible about Kazakhstan and learning a little Russian (which seems pretty much impossible). I've posted a travel link (in the sidebar) to a website that has a good amount of info and pics of Kazakhstan for all who are interested.

We're also focusing on the fun stuff at home. We ordered the furniture for Justin's room this afternoon. This makes it all feel so real. I can't believe this is finally happening for us. We've waitied so long to become parents.

This is it!
